In Phoenix, a new coffee shop has abandoned seasonal decor in favor of a permanent, mystical aesthetic. Owner Ana Sebellano states that the business is designed to reflect her personal background and daily life practices.
Sebellano explains that the name Brew-Ja's derives from the Spanish word for witch. She asserts that the shop's identity is built on this heritage, claiming that her family practices magic every day and that this element is central to her existence.
The visual design of the space relies heavily on specific color symbolism. Sebellano describes the red doors as a portal to different dimensions. She notes that purple represents wishing, while black signifies darkness. She says every aspect of the interior is intended to feel magical to patrons.
The menu combines coffee beans from Italy and Costa Rica with beverages sourced from other regions. Sebellano lists Japanese matcha, Indian chai, and Mexican lemonades made with Jamaica and hibiscus. Horchata is also available as a standard offering.
Below the main coffee bar, the shop operates a boutique. This space sells items used for magical practices, including incense, candles, honeys, body scrubs, perfumes, pheromones, and crystals.
Brew-Ja's operates seven days a week, maintaining the same thematic consistency throughout its open hours.
