The 2026-27 NBA season is in its second week, with both teams having played two or three games so far.

The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Rocket Arena on Monday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET. Cleveland is listed as a 5.5-point favorite, and the over/under total is set at 231.5 points.

Minnesota enters the game with a perfect 3-0 record. The Timberwolves defeated the Toronto Raptors 117-94 on Sunday. They are 2-0 on the road this season. Last year, the team finished third in the Northwest Division with a 49-33 record.

Cleveland has a 1-1 record and is 1-0 at home this season. The Cavaliers beat the Brooklyn Nets 125-121 on Saturday. They finished second in the Central Division last year with a 52-30 record.

Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable due to knee injury management. The Timberwolves guard has started all three games this season. He averages 28.7 points, five rebounds, 3.3 assists, and two steals in 31.3 minutes per game. Six Minnesota players currently average at least 12 points.

Danovan Mitchell leads the Cavaliers in scoring. In two starts, he averages 27 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and one block in 35.5 minutes.

A SportsLine projection model simulated the matchup 10,000 times. The model projects a combined total of 236 points, suggesting the over will hit 56% of the time. The over has hit in the last four head-to-head meetings between these teams. It has also hit in five of Minnesota's last eight games and seven of Cleveland's last ten.
