Tammy Bishop is asking the public to help locate the wedding ring her late husband lost on the Las Vegas Strip. Will Mulroy, a former Fleet Farm employee, lost the band during the couple's reception on Oct. 20. He died three days later, leaving Bishop to search for the symbol of their marriage.
The couple was married at Viva Las Vegas Chapel on Oct. 20. They celebrated their wedding by touring the Strip on a party bus. Bishop said they stopped at a bar where Mulroy realized his ring was gone. He began to cry when he looked down and saw the band was missing.
Bishop said Mulroy had lost weight recently, which made the ring two sizes too large. She noted that he could grab handles and walk, so the ring may have slid off while he moved into his wheelchair or during the bus ride. The ring may have also come off while he rolled down the Strip. The couple backtracked their route and asked the bus driver to help, but they could not find it.
The next morning, Bishop joked with Mulroy that he had lost the ring within 24 hours of wearing it. The group laughed at the comment. Bishop said she told him it was not a big deal and that they would buy him a new one. She said the sentiment now carries more weight because Mulroy is gone.
Mulroy and Bishop met in July 2023 and became engaged in March 2024. A week after their engagement, Mulroy was in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Bishop said there was anger at first, but Mulroy kept asking her to marry him. He proposed again this summer, and they decided on a Las Vegas ceremony. On Bishop's birthday, Oct. 4, Mulroy told her that the wedding was booked and her friends were invited.
After the wedding, Bishop said Mulroy was in pain on the way home. He mentioned going to the emergency room as soon as they returned. The next morning, he was congested, and Bishop told him not to go to work. She could not wake him and called 911. Doctors at the hospital declared him brain dead. He was on life support for 24 hours, and his heart stopped three times in the emergency room.
Bishop described Mulroy as mechanically inclined and savvy. He did not need to call other people to fix things. The couple had planned to start their own party bus business. Bishop said the rings were blessed and represented Mulroy to her. She hopes a stranger finds the ring and returns it. She said finding it would mean a lot now that she no longer has her husband.
Bishop said the sequence of events is hard to process. She noted that the accident happened when they started dating, followed by their marriage. She said it does not make sense to her. If anyone has information about the missing ring, they can contact reporter Victoria Saha at vsaha@kvvu.com.
