Cowabunga Bay will not reopen for the 2027 season. The waterpark at 900 Galleria Drive in Henderson announced the decision on Monday. The facility has operated since 2014.
Management stated the closure allows them to concentrate resources on Cowabunga Canyon in Summerlin. Officials said focusing on a single park will better serve the Las Vegas market. The Henderson site will be maintained and secured while ownership determines its next use.
A spokesperson noted that Cowabunga Canyon is a central part of their future plans. The company intends to keep investing in that location to improve the guest experience. They described the Henderson closure as closing one chapter while continuing to serve families in Southern Nevada.
Cowabunga Canyon at 7055 S. Fort Apache Road near Warm Springs Road will open as usual for the summer of 2027. That location underwent a rebrand and renovation in 2022. It features waterslides and attractions similar to those found at Cowabunga Bay.
Officials confirmed that customers who already bought 2027 Cowabunga Vegas Season Passes can use them at the Summerlin park. The pass remains valid for the upcoming season at the remaining location.
