Jay-Z will take the Super Bowl halftime stage himself on Feb. 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced the booking Monday night. Commissioner Roger Goodell said he asked for one thing when the league first reached an agreement with Roc Nation: that Jay-Z perform whenever the moment felt right to him. Roc Nation has advised the league on its entertainment presentations, including the halftime show, since 2019. Back then, Jay-Z said he told Goodell, "If this is about me performing at the Super Bowl, then we can just end this conversation now."

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has won 25 Grammy Awards from 89 nominations, second to his wife Beyoncé, who has played two Super Bowls. He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and started Roc Nation in 2008. He entered the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, and he has four Emmys.

"From 'Reasonable Doubt' to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey," Jay-Z said in a statement. "Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."

The performance lands at SoFi Stadium, where he closed a run marking 30 years since "Reasonable Doubt," his 1996 debut album. The album entered the Grammy Hall of Fame last year. The run included three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium and sold-out dates in London and Paris before a SoFi Stadium stop over the weekend.

At SoFi Stadium, his daughter Blue Ivy played piano on "The Story of O.J." and "Dead Presidents." Scarface, John Legend and DJ Khaled joined him on opening night, and Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Too $hort appeared at Saturday's finale. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Eminem and Nas were among the guests at Yankee Stadium.

Roc Nation will executive produce the Feb. 14 show, with Hamish Hamilton directing. Bad Bunny's performance in February won seven Emmys, a record for the category, and Kendrick Lamar's show last year won for music direction.
