LAS VEGAS, Las Vegas police announced on Tuesday that two men suspected of killing an employee during a business center robbery are in custody. The suspects were taken into police protection in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrests of Antwan Terry, 36, and Anthony Terry, 38. Both men face charges of open murder with use of a deadly weapon, robbery, first-degree kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit robbery. The charges stem from a shooting that occurred the morning of Oct. 15 at a southeast Las Vegas business center.
Investigators said two men attempted to rob the location. Reynaldo Rodis II, an employee at the business, lunged at one of the suspects in an effort to stop the robbery. Police reported that Rodis was shot and killed at the scene. The arrests in St. Paul came two weeks after the incident.
Rodis’ sister, who is one year his senior, described the pair as close. “We’re a year apart, so we’re like two peas in a pod,” she said. “We got so many things, so many fun memories.” She noted that friends and coworkers knew Rodis as a boxing fan with a generous nature.
“Well, Ray, he has a very big personality,” his sister said. “He’s very kind.” The family expressed relief upon learning of the arrests in Minnesota. “Finding out that two of the suspects have been apprehended was a big relief,” she said. She added that the arrests meant justice for Rodis and removed the men from the street, noting they had prior criminal records.
The family stated that two other suspects remain at large in connection with the shooting. Rodis’ sister acknowledged the difficulty of the period for the family. “These are hard times for us, but my brother was an amazing man,” she said.
