Los Angeles led Golden State by 25 points in the second quarter before losing 112-95 on Friday night at Chase Center. The Lakers scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and allowed 27.

Luka Doncic scored 37 points on 12-for-27 shooting. Austin Reaves added 21 points, hitting nine of 19 field goals and one of six three-pointers. Stephen Curry led Golden State with 31 points, shooting 11 for 23 from the field and eight of 14 from deep.

The Warriors outscored Los Angeles 38-15 in the second quarter to pull even at 53-53 by halftime. Los Angeles had outscored Golden State 38-15 in the opening quarter.

Golden State carried an 85-80 lead into the fourth. Los Angeles committed 22 turnovers in the game. The team entered ranked 10th in the NBA, averaging 16.6 turnovers per game.

Los Angeles did not score in the fourth until 4:01 elapsed. Walker Kessler made one free throw with 7:54 remaining to cut the deficit to 96-81. Matisse Thybulle drew a technical foul with 8:02 left, and Curry made the free throw.

Doncic drew his first technical of the season after Jake LaRavia was called for an offensive foul with 21.8 seconds left in the third quarter. Los Angeles committed five turnovers in the third quarter.

Curry crossed over Doncic in the third, sending him to the floor, then hit a three-pointer. Doncic answered with a three over Gary Payton II on the next possession and held his fingers to his lips.

Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg guarded Doncic on the game's first possession. Fans chanted "Luka sucks" after Doncic missed a floater; he hit a three on the next attempt and wagged his finger. Lendeborg said after the season opener that he "lost all respect" for Doncic, who had 28 points and seven assists in that game.

Doncic scored 21 points in the first quarter, making seven of 12 shots and five of nine threes. Lakers coach JJ Redick was asked before the game about Doncic's response when opponents provoke him. "I mean, he's insane," Redick said. "He's involved in everything in every game.. It's part of the Luka basketball game." Redick also said Ziaire Williams, who missed a second straight game with left foot soreness, was at shootaround. "He still has some soreness," Redick said. "He's going to have to continue to monitor it."

Lakers owner Mark Walter and Josh Kushner reached agreement on previously undecided terms tied to the $12.5-billion sale of the franchise. This was the first NBA Cup game for both teams.
